Our advanced regional programs include Cancer Care and Cardiac Care, serving a broader population across the northern GTA and into Simcoe-Muskoka.

We are seeking a skilled Medical Oncology Pharmacy Assistant to join our team, reporting directly to the Manager of Oncology Pharmacy. This role involves working in collaboration with the Oncology Team to support the delivery of anti-cancer treatments to cancer patients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing chemotherapy and immunotherapy, maintaining Best Possible Medication lists, inventory management, and other duties as required.

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:

  • A commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers, and other members of the community and public.
  • Sound organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to work well in stressful situations.
  • Good communication skills, including strong documentation skills.
  • The ability to work well with patients, families, all levels of staff, and the community.
  • Ethical conduct and a willingness to understand and appreciate the diversity of our patient/staff population and community.
  • An understanding of sterile compounding procedures, safe handling of hazardous drugs, and NAPRA standards.

In terms of qualifications, we require:

  • Licensure by OCP, with education obtained from an accredited Pharmacy technician program (CCAPP accredited).
  • Membership in the Canadian Association of Pharmacy Technicians.
  • Completion of GCP certification and Division 5 within 3 months of hire.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic techniques, pharmaceutical arithmetic, and pharmaceutical terminology.
  • Experience in hospital pharmacy and handling hazardous drugs is preferred.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, interpersonal skills, communication, and teamwork.
  • Excellence in written and verbal communication, with a commitment to customer service and teamwork.
  • Individual leadership skills and a commitment to providing an exceptional experience for patients and families.

As part of our team, you can expect to receive a competitive salary and benefits package. We estimate the annual salary for this role to be approximately $85,000 - $105,000, depending on experience.
