Job Summary

The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for providing exceptional patient care and services in a community pharmacy setting. This includes receiving, preparing, and dispensing medications accurately and timely, as well as ensuring adequate inventory levels to meet patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Prepare, dispense, and control medications accurately and timely to patients.
  2. Ensure medication and over-the-counter supplement inventory levels are adequate to meet patient needs.
  3. Counsel patients regarding new and additional medications in a friendly, positive, and proactive interaction.
  4. Create awareness and educate customers through public relations (public health days, clinics, etc.).
  5. Provide timely and positive resolutions to patients' needs and doctors' requests/issues.
  6. Review and control costs at all levels within Loblaw Pharmacy (dispensary).
  7. Provide ongoing training for all new and existing pharmacy colleagues (technicians, interns, students, IPGs).

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and a Class A Pharmacist's license are mandatory.
  • Superior customer relations skills and a strong sense of professionalism are required.
  • Excellent leadership and performance management skills are necessary.
  • Proven ability to build the business using community-based marketing strategies is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including experience formulating and executing action plans, are necessary.
  • Strong personal computing skills, as well as knowledge of KROLL Pharmacy Computer System, are a definite asset.
