Operational Supervisor of Business Process Improvement

PBC Solutions is seeking an experienced Operational Supervisor to lead our Business Process Improvement unit. This is a full-time, regular hybrid position requiring regular presence at our office in Saanichton.

PBC Solutions Ltd. was established in 2022 as a subsidiary of Pacific Blue Cross, the largest health benefits provider in BC. Our mandate is to design, transform, and deliver benefits and claims administration services for governments and other organizations.
Our team administers Health Insurance BC Services on behalf of the BC Ministry of Health, ensuring medically necessary insured doctor and hospital services, as well as PharmaCare and Fair PharmaCare programs.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the workforce to enhance employee engagement and performance, executing business goals within a high-performance culture.
- Coach, mentor, and develop employees for growth and effectiveness in the department.
- Customer focus: build strong relationships internally and externally while working on daily activities and project-related initiatives.
- Play a key role in change management by encouraging innovation and creativity.
- Implement goals: create individual and team goals, advocating employee empowerment and accountabilities.
- Utilize forecasting tools to assign workflow and oversee departmental activities.
- Identify and lead Continuous Service Improvement (CSI) opportunities.
- Investigate and resolve employee/client escalations regarding business policies or procedures.
- Attend internal and client-facing meetings, including Program Increment Planning.
- Minimum 2 years' experience supervising an operational unit with at least 15 employees in a corporate or government setting.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in business process improvement with demonstrated results.
- Preferred university degree or post-secondary diploma in a related field.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and standard office equipment.
- Experience working in a unionized environment.
- 2 years' experience processing access to information and privacy requests under BC's Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
- Significant experience handling confidential information.
- Excellent research skills, attention to detail, diplomacy, and tact.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills, ability to cultivate relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
This position is designated as a Grid level 21, with an estimated annual salary range of $79,872 - $90,588 based on a 35-hour workweek and a 4% benefit contribution.
