Emergency Preparedness Specialist

Porter Airlines is seeking a highly skilled Emergency Preparedness Specialist to support safety at the organization through oversight of its Emergency Response Plan.
This role is responsible for evaluating industry standards and best practices for aviation emergency preparedness, and making recommendations for the continuous improvement of the Porter emergency response program.
The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of Transport Canada, TSBC, NTSB, ICAO and IATA requirements for aviation emergency preparedness and post-accident humanitarian assistance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Evaluating industry standards and best practices for aviation emergency preparedness
- Maintaining the Emergency Response Manual and related documentation
- Tracking and updating contacts for emergency response stakeholders
- Administering initial and recurrent training for emergency response team members
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and IATA/ICAO standards related to emergency response
- Participating in audits of station and stakeholder emergency preparedness
The successful candidate will have excellent leadership, time management, problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills, and a keen attention to detail.
