Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Switchgear Technician to join our team at Vertiv. As a key member of our field service team, you will be responsible for providing expert technical support and maintenance services for our electrical switchgear systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the start-up commissioning, integration, and troubleshooting of Vertiv electrical switchgear systems, including PDU, ATS, PDC, circuit breakers, protective relays, PLC, meters, and other automated devices.
  • Perform mechanical repairs and modifications as required.
  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships with customers, coworkers, sales representatives, and other stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively with National Technical Support on equipment issues.
  • Perform work-related tasks according to company guidelines for scheduled maintenance.
  • Implement Field Change Notices according to published guidelines.
  • Stay up-to-date on Safety Bulletins, Safety Field Change Notices, Field Change Notices, and Service Tips.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • 2+ years of hands-on electronic experience or field services.
  • Training in electrical theory and technologies.
  • Familiarity with electrical/electronic test equipment and fundamentals.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical line diagrams and blueprints.
  • Standard computer skills, including MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree preferred.
Work Environment
  • Must be able to consistently lift up to 50 lbs/23 kg.
  • Frequent standing, kneeling, crawling, stooping, bending, and twisting.
  • Frequent climbing (stairs, ladders) and driving (car, van, truck).
