About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic - Vehicle Maintenance Specialist to join our team at First Student Shared Services. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our school buses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair complex vehicle issues, including brakes, engine tune-ups, and suspension systems.
  • Lead preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to complete work orders efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of our fleet's maintenance needs and develop strategies to optimize vehicle uptime.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in vehicle maintenance.
Requirements
  • Valid 310T Mechanic license.
  • Advanced problem-solving ability and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
