About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Metadata Management Associate Director to join our team at Royal Bank of Canada. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading our Metadata Management initiatives and ensuring the effective implementation of our metadata standards.

Job Summary: In this role, you will oversee the management of metadata across various data domains, collaborating with subject matter experts and business stakeholders to ensure consistency and adherence to internal processes and Enterprise Data Standards. Your expertise in metadata management will enable us to capture and maintain accurate metadata, driving business value through enhanced data quality and decision-making capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of analysts, providing guidance and mentorship to support their growth and development.
  • Collaborate with senior directors, data managers, and other stakeholders to develop and implement strategic initiatives and projects.
  • Oversee the maintenance, update, and execution of metadata processes across all data domains, ensuring consistency and adherence to internal processes and Enterprise Data Standards.
  • Assist in identifying efficiencies in capturing metadata and advocate for the adoption of Collibra across data domains.
  • Facilitate consistent adoption of metadata standards across the enterprise, demonstrating the value added by adoption of Collibra.
  • Review and maintain the effectiveness of business processes, including metadata management.
  • Develop positive relationships with service partners and team members.
  • Present metadata details captured to key stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in an operational environment, preferably in metadata management or a related field.
  • Prior experience with Enterprise Metadata Management platforms is essential.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, information technology, or a related discipline.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Multitasking and deliverables management skills are essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Basic understanding of banking policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision/oversight to achieve short-term performance expectations.
