Job Title: Community and Social Services Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community and Social Services Worker to join our team at Strive Living West Kelowna. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with diverse needs and backgrounds.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct support to clients in a group home setting, promoting their independence, and enhancing their overall well-being. This role requires a strong understanding of social services principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to clients, focusing on their unique needs and goals.
  • Develop and implement behavior management programs to promote positive outcomes.
  • Liaise with other social services agencies and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, such as personal care and household management.
  • Accompany clients to appointments and social outings, promoting socialization and community integration.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of client care plans.
Requirements:
  • College diploma or equivalent in a related field (e.g., social work, psychology, or a related field).
  • 1-2 years of experience in a social services or related field.
  • Strong understanding of social services principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid Mandt System training and First Aid/CPR certification.
