Electrical Project Manager Job Description

Smith + Andersen is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join our team in Winnipeg, MB. As a key member of our electrical engineering team, you will be responsible for managing electrical projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage electrical project plans, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Manage and maintain accurate project records, including documentation, drawings, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with the project team to identify and mitigate risks, and develop contingency plans.
  • Develop and implement quality control processes to ensure high-quality project deliverables.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project team members.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on project management.
  • Registered Engineer in the province of Nova Scotia.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, including design, installation, and maintenance.
  • Experience with project management software, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation tools.
  • Strong understanding of relevant codes, standards, and regulations, including the National Electrical Code (NEC) and the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).
