Job Summary

The Physician Assistant will work under the direct supervision of a Cardiologist in the outpatient clinic, facilitating consistent application of clinical protocols and continuity of care. The Physician Assistant will manage patient care, order diagnostic tests, prescribe and dispense medications, and participate in the education of other health professional trainees. The Physician Assistant will provide a full range of physician assistant services in accordance with privileges granted.

Responsibilities

  • Work under the direct supervision of a Cardiologist
  • Manage patient care
  • Order diagnostic tests
  • Prescribe and dispense medications
  • Participate in the education of other health professional trainees

Qualifications

  • Graduate of Physician Assistant Program
  • Prior experience in cardiology an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions in times of emergencies
  • Demonstrated ability to work alongside Cardiologists, Nurses and other Health Care Professionals
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to promote professional development
  • Demonstrated leadership and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient and family-centered care
  • Demonstrated ability for independent action, initiative, problem-solving, organization and prioritization
