Job Summary

The Physician Assistant will work under the direct supervision of a Cardiologist in the Cardiology clinic at Hamilton Health Sciences. The role involves facilitating consistent application of clinical protocols and continuity of care, utilizing evidence-based practice principles. The Physician Assistant will manage patient care, order diagnostic tests, prescribe and dispense medications, and participate in education and research activities.

Responsibilities

  • Work under the direct supervision of a Cardiologist
  • Facilitate consistent application of clinical protocols and continuity of care
  • Manage patient care, including ordering diagnostic tests and prescribing medications
  • Participate in education and research activities
  • Collaborate with Cardiologists, Nurses, and other Health Care Professionals

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Physician Assistant Program
  • Prior experience in cardiology an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions in emergency situations
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Work Environment

The Physician Assistant will work in the Cardiology clinic at Hamilton Health Sciences, a teaching hospital that fosters a culture of patient and staff safety. The role requires flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and on-call periods.
