Payroll Specialist

The Payroll Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing for Côté Gold employees. As a key member of the finance team, this individual will work collaboratively with Human Resources and other departments to implement efficient payroll processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process payroll
- Process payroll for Ontario and Quebec employees
- Ensure timely calculation, set-up, processing, and remittance of all garnishments in accordance with notice details
- Receive and process new employee information and data changes
- Transfer time and attendance into payroll
- Verify vacation/statutory holiday/sick time banks/leaves of absence and related adjustments
- Review and update employee benefit changes such as RPP, RRSP, TFSA, ESPP, taxable group insurance, and optional coverage deductions
- Calculate and process termination payments in payroll system and issue records of employment
- Process terminations in time and attendance system once payments are complete
- Maintain and administer payroll schedules, deadlines, and organizational policies
The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A post-secondary education in payroll, accounting, or a related field is required, along with Canadian Payroll Certification or equivalent experience.
