About the Opportunity

The Royal Bank of Canada is embarking on a transformative journey to enhance technology management and IT risk across the organization, and we're seeking a seasoned Senior Cloud Engineer to spearhead this initiative. As a key member of our Technology and Operations team, you will be responsible for strategically planning and executing the successful implementation of various enterprise-wide projects, leveraging your expertise in cloud computing, automation, and DevOps.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Support the currency of our technology infrastructure, ensuring server patching, certificate renewal, and compliance are up-to-date, while identifying opportunities for automation.
  • Develop and lead the vision for our cloud platform, incorporating monitoring, alerting, machine learning anomaly detection, self-healing, and reliability testing.
  • Oversee code and non-functional reviews of all production-bound cloud solutions, ensuring they meet our high standards for performance, security, maintainability, and compliance.
  • Drive transformation by continuously seeking ways to automate existing processes and improve efficiency.
  • Lead the team in executing our cloud roadmap, ensuring timely completion of projects and objectives.
  • Track, audit, and monitor technical work streams, ensuring seamless execution.

Your Qualifications

We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with:

Excellent knowledge of Ansible Tower and the Ansible Automation Platform.Hands-on experience with a variety of cloud languages and tools, including Ansible, Dynatrace, Moogsoft, and PagerDuty.Hands-on experience in software engineering, including SDLC, architecture, design, and development.Advanced knowledge of cloud practices and technologies, including Python, YAML, shell scripting, Azure, Linux, and Kubernetes.

Location and Working Conditions

This role is based in Bedford, Ontario, Canada, and offers a 37.5-hour workweek with flexible scheduling to ensure a healthy work-life balance. As a full-time salaried employee, you'll have access to our comprehensive benefits package and a competitive salary range of $110,000 - $140,000 annually, depending on your experience and qualifications.
