About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Orchard View Builders Ltd. as a key member of our construction team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Prepare layouts in accordance with building codes, using measuring tools and equipment
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Schedule and coordinate work on sites, ensuring timely completion of projects
  • Instruct and supervise apprentices, promoting a culture of learning and development
Work Environment and Requirements
  • Work in a fast-paced construction environment, with varying weather conditions
  • Handle heavy loads and work at heights, requiring physical stamina and endurance
  • Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to achieve project goals and deadlines
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, wearing personal protective equipment as required

  • Experience in carpentry or a related trade
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
