Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Watersports Specialist to join our team at CNIB Lake Joe. As a key member of our program staff, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating watersports programs for youth with sight loss.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and delivering engaging watersports programs that cater to diverse skill levels and abilities;
  • Energetically facilitating and supporting watersports activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of participants;
  • Maintaining equipment and facilities to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all;
  • Collaborating with other program staff to ensure seamless delivery of programming and services;
  • Participating in emergency response and first aid training;
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting on program outcomes and participant feedback;

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in watersports instruction or coaching;
  • A valid Pleasure Craft Operator (PCO) card and small vessel operator proficiency (SVOP) certification;
  • Current swimming certification (Bronze Medallion and above) and standard first aid and CPR "C" training;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with people of varying ages, abilities, and backgrounds;
  • A willingness to learn about blindness and sight loss, and to adapt your teaching methods to meet the needs of participants;
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to scheduling and workload demands;

Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $55,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional development.

Candidates must be able to work outdoors in variable weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
