Job Summary:

Linds & Associates is seeking a highly skilled Leasing Law Clerk to join our team. As a Leasing Law Clerk, you will play a critical role in reviewing and amending commercial lease documents, coordinating lease due diligence projects, and preparing notices of lease and other lease-related title documents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and amend commercial lease documents, including leases, subleases, offers to lease, amending agreements, and other ancillary lease documents.
  • Coordinate and manage lease due diligence projects, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Prepare and/or register notices of lease, short forms of lease, and other lease-related title documents.
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders to negotiate commercial lease agreements, providing expert guidance and support.
  • Produce high-quality work products, meeting tight deadlines and exceeding expectations.
  • Take initiative to identify and address potential issues, ensuring seamless project execution.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years' experience as a Leasing Law Clerk, with a strong background in commercial lease law.
  • Successful completion of a related post-secondary education program in a legal assistant or law clerk program.
  • ILCO certification or willingness to work towards it.
  • Knowledge of title-related matters and reading sub-searches an asset.
  • Ability to handle time pressure situations and stress of multiple demands.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing demands and priorities.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite of applications.
  • Knowledge of Workshare Compare or a similar document comparison program.
  • Knowledge of Teraview.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to problem-solve and think critically.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective relationships.
