Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC). As a key member of our care team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional healthcare services.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse will work in our Emergency Department, providing care to patients across the lifespan with stable and predictable states of health. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating interventions to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessments, interventions, and education
  • Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Document patient care and outcomes in accordance with organizational and unit standards
  • Participate in discharge and care planning, and provide patient and family education
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities
Requirements:
  • Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses and one year of recent experience working in a related area of care
  • Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
