About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Home Building Contractor to join our team at McIntyre Coatings Ltd. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of residential construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning: Develop and implement project schedules, ensuring timely completion and quality standards.
  • Quality Control: Inspect subcontractors' work to guarantee adherence to plans, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Budget Management: Plan, manage, and control project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability.
  • Trade Work: Perform various trade work during home construction or renovation activities, including carpentry, electrical, and plumbing tasks.
  • Team Management: Recruit, hire, and supervise staff and/or volunteers, ensuring a skilled and efficient team.
  • Business Development: Develop and implement business plans, including market research, sales strategies, and customer engagement.
  • Estimating and Bidding: Prepare estimates and bids for home construction, renovation, and restoration projects, ensuring competitiveness and profitability.
  • Customer Relations: Collaborate with customers, architects, and engineers to ensure project plans and specifications meet their needs.
  • Supply Chain Management: Maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors, ensuring efficient procurement and delivery.
  • Permitting: Ensure that construction permits are obtained, complying with local regulations and industry standards.
  • Operations Management: Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and quality.
Requirements
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in residential construction or a related field.
  • Permanent employment.
  • English as the primary language of work.
  • 40 hours per week.
