Job Title: Home Building Contractor

We are seeking a skilled Home Building Contractor to join our team at Western 1 Drywall Ltd.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and preparing work schedules, inspecting subcontractors' work, and managing budgets. They will also perform various trade work during home construction or renovation activities, recruit and supervise staff, and develop and implement business plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planning and Scheduling: Plan and prepare work schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Quality Control: Inspect subcontractors' work to ensure quality and conformity with plans and specifications.
  • Budget Management: Plan and manage budgets for projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Trade Work: Perform various trade work during home construction or renovation activities, including carpentry, electrical, and plumbing work.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, hire, and supervise staff and/or volunteers to ensure effective project execution.
  • Business Planning: Develop and implement business plans to drive growth and profitability.
  • Customer Relations: Work with customers, architects, and engineers to ensure plans and specifications are met.
  • Supply Management: Prepare and maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors.
  • Permitting: Ensure that construction permits are obtained and all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Operations Management: Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations to ensure efficient project execution.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
