About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Development Specialist to join our team at Trane Technologies. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing turnkey design-build solutions and energy savings contracting projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop HVAC systems and solutions using a combination of Trane equipment and controls and other leading HVAC equipment and systems.
  • Establish project installation budgets and prepare sub-contractor request for quotation's (RFQ) including scope statements, plans, and milestone dates.
  • Provide key technical support in pursuit of Trane business, including participation on strategic job acquisition teams.
  • Manage the design process, including conceptual site plans and preliminary engineering documents through construction documents.
  • Continually validate the effectiveness of the Design-Build Turnkey and ESPC processes and identify and develop improvements.
  • Responsible for securing customers from Project Development through project completion.
  • Assist and support all efforts of acquisition and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide sound 'Business Judgement' weighing risk and reward in conjunction with the District Leadership Team.
  • Knowledge of Project management principles.
  • Some travel required, other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree in Engineering, Technical or Business Required.
  • Working knowledge of cost and savings studies incorporating energy conservation measures.
  • Working knowledge of energy rebate programs, desirable.
  • Familiarity with utility tariffs and utility bill analysis is also preferred.
  • Ability to audit existing mechanical and building systems and recommend solutions to improve.
  • Ability to understand construction methods/practices and communicate and direct subcontractors in an effort to obtain critical proposal information.
  • Experience in estimating construction and HVAC installation.
  • Energy or Systems/HVAC/Controls background.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Experience should demonstrate successful project delivery including project drawings and estimates.
  • Must have a general knowledge of basic engineering, electricity, mechanical HVAC systems and the building construction industry.
  • Proficiency in Visio, AutoCAD and other design software is beneficial.
  • Ability to work regularly and dependably as well as function in a team environment.
  • Some flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required, including some travel with occasional overnight stays.
  • Bilingual.
