Audiologist Job Description

The Audiologist is a vital member of the Natrona County School team, responsible for providing audiology services to students with hearing difficulties. This role involves evaluating students' hearing, listening, and auditory processing skills, addressing deficits that impact academic success, communication abilities, and psychosocial well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide audiological and electro-acoustical evaluations to ensure effective services and equipment are provided for each hearing-impaired student.
  • Collaborate with school personnel, audiometric technicians, students, and parents to facilitate a better understanding of the impact of auditory impairments on language, learning, literacy, and social development.
  • Develop and implement effective student programs that address the audiological and educational needs of each hearing-impaired student.
  • Conduct hearing screenings and provide diagnostic services to identify the need for amplification and hearing assistance technology.
  • Provide direct intervention services in audiological rehabilitation, working with Speech Language Pathologists and classroom teachers to ensure a consistent and successful learning environment for each hearing-impaired student.
  • Research and recommend audiological equipment, materials, and supplies to ensure the availability of needed resources for audiological services.
  • Respond to inquiries from parents, teachers, staff, students, and community agencies, providing information and/or referral as appropriate.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Audiology or related field.
  • State licensure and certification in Audiology.
  • Experience working with students with hearing impairments.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
