Financial Planner Role

As a Financial Planner at Scotiabank, you will be responsible for developing and deepening client relationships by providing high-quality advice and service within the mass affluent market.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-depth reviews for assigned clients to identify their financial goals and develop personalized financial strategies.
  • Exhibit a natural curiosity to uncover and solve for clients' needs, delivering trusted financial advice on investments and retirement planning.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and a goal-oriented mindset to identify clients' needs and craft personalized financial solutions.
  • Foster strong engagement, educate clients, offer insights, and deliver expert advice.
  • Exercise a collaborative approach when dealing with peers, clients, and partners.
  • Build relationships, focus on providing a great client experience, and grow long-standing relationships with existing clients.
Requirements:
  • Experience in financial planning and investment sales is preferred.
  • Successfully completed (or working towards) the Personal Financial Planning (PFP) designation (or IQPF designation within Quebec), and/or the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.
  • You're an accredited mutual funds professional in good standing with CIRO licensing requirements (Investments Funds in Canada or Canadian Securities Course).
  • You're able to work independently as a self-motivated entrepreneur with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledgeable of competitive offerings, market trends, economic conditions, and the regulatory environment.
