Job Summary:

We are seeking a Lifeguard & Swim Instructor to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Toronto. As a Lifeguard & Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our members and providing high-quality swim instruction.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of members in the pool area and respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Provide swim instruction to members of all ages and skill levels.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of our members.
  • Maintain a clean and organized pool area.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure a positive and inclusive environment.

Requirements:

  • Current certifications in Lifesaving Society awards: National Lifeguard (NL), Standard First Aid & CPR level C.
  • Current YMCA or Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor certification.
  • Previous experience instructing swim lessons is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
