Job Title: Director, Communications and Marketing

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Communications and Marketing to join our team at the 2027 Canada Games Host Society. This is a unique opportunity to shine a spotlight on the 2027 Canada Games brand and create a distinctive image that Québec City will be proud of.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise, motivate, and lead a multidisciplinary team of around 5 employees.
  • Plan and coordinate communication and marketing strategies, including awareness and promotion of the Games, digital platforms, volunteer recruitment, and philanthropic campaign.
  • Create advertising campaigns with the team.
  • Act as a communications and public/media relations expert.
  • Plan and implement a media production, distribution, and marketing strategy to ensure the Games receive coverage in both official languages and achieve maximum national reach.
  • Build strategic partnerships to enhance the visibility of the Games.
  • Recruit and manage communications and marketing volunteers.
  • Provide unifying leadership to team members and support them in their roles.
Requirements and Skills:
  • Strategic thinking, analytical skills, and sound judgment.
  • Varied experience in communications and marketing.
  • Creativity and content creation/writing talent.
  • Ability to deliver expected results within tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail, thoroughness, and flawless spelling.
  • A good eye for design and branding.
  • Initiative and autonomy.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with short deadlines.
  • Strong change and risk management skills, including prioritization, planning, and follow-up.
  • Solid experience in project, team, and budget management.
  • Proficiency in both French and English, spoken and written.
  • Experience in event planning or with an agency: an asset.
