Job Summary

As a Valve Technician at Emerson, you will play a critical role in the Lifecycle Services service model. Your responsibilities will include teardown, repair, new assembly, calibration, and diagnostics of control valves and instruments, as well as associated paperwork and documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble new equipment or repaired equipment.
  • Document repair, testing, and assembly activities, including cause of failure, actions taken, parts used, and labor hours.
  • Provide customer communication, including technical assistance, troubleshooting, and quoting.
  • Disassemble, clean, and evaluate parts.
  • Prepare surfaces and paint assemblies and parts.
  • Stamp and tag nameplates.
  • Conduct final inspections and complete inspection reports.
  • Sign and document date compliance sheets.
  • Adhere to safety, quality, and company rules and regulations.
  • Ensure personal safety and the safety of those around you.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards.
  • Participate in field service calls, as required, at customer sites.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent post-secondary education.
  • 2+ years of previous industry-related experience.
  • Ability to work in a shop environment with prolonged standing, lifting 35 pounds, bending, scooping, and repetitive motions.
  • Skilled in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Knowledge of analyzing, evaluating, diagnosing, and resolving equipment and process-related problems.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines and prioritize challenging demands.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Mechanical-related degree a plus.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn proprietary systems.
  • Understanding or work experience with Fisher and Final Control products preferred.
  • Experience in the process control industry a plus.
