Valve Technician Specialist

Job Summary:
The Valve Technician Specialist will be an integral part of the Lifecycle Services service model at Emerson. This role will be responsible for the teardown, repair, new assembly, calibration, and diagnostics of control valves and instruments using Flowscanner, as well as associated paperwork and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble new equipment or repaired equipment, ensuring high-quality standards are met.
- Document repair, testing, and assembly activities, including cause of failure, actions taken, parts used, labor hours, and other relevant details.
- Provide technical assistance, troubleshooting, and customer communication, including quoting and determining the disposition of repairs.
- Disassemble, clean, and evaluate parts, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- Prepare surfaces for painting and apply coatings to assemblies and parts, ensuring a high-quality finish.
- Stamp and tag nameplates, ensuring accurate and legible identification of equipment.
- Conduct final inspections and complete inspection reports, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Sign and document date compliance sheets, maintaining accurate records.
- Adhere to all safety, quality, and company rules and regulations, prioritizing personal safety and the safety of those around you.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards, ensuring a clean and organized work environment.
- Participate in field service calls, as required, at customer sites, and may require overnight stays from time to time.
- Participate in Safety, Quality, and Activities Committees, contributing to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent post-secondary education.
- 2+ years of previous industry-related experience.
- Ability to work in a shop environment with prolonged standing, lifting 35 pounds, bending, scooping, and repetitive motions.
- Skilled in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of analyzing, evaluating, diagnosing, and resolving equipment and process-related problems.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to adhere to deadlines and prioritize challenging demands.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Mechanical-related degree a plus.
- Proven ability to quickly learn proprietary systems.
- Understanding or work experience with Fisher and Final Control products preferred.
- Experience in the process control industry is a plus.
