Job Opportunity:



We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Communications Specialist to join our team at the Lac La Ronge Indian Band. As a key member of our corporate communications team, you will play a vital role in providing strategic advice and support to our Chief and Senior Management Team.



About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all communication and networking activities, serving as a conduit to our leadership, management, communities, and band members. Key duties include developing a communications plan for our communities, providing analysis of communications' activities, issues, and media coverage, and preparing an annual report in consultation with all departments and communities.



You will also provide strategic communications advice on a range of issues, including crisis and emergency situations, and organizational matters. Additionally, you will coordinate responses to media inquiries, serve as our spokesperson, and assist in preparing press releases and other materials.



About You:

To be successful in this role, you will require a university degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related discipline. A minimum of five years of experience in policy research, corporate communications planning and coordination, preferably in a government environment, is essential. Formal training and experience in crisis or emergency communications are also highly desirable.



You will possess superior communication skills, sound judgement, and decision-making abilities. A Class 5 Driver's License is required, and understanding of the Cree language is an asset.



Compensation Package:

We offer a competitive salary of approximately $80,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to your salary, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a generous retirement savings plan.
