About the Role:
The BC SPCA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Officer, Events to lead our fundraising and events strategy. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Vancouver, with opportunities for remote work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising and events strategy to support the BC SPCA's mission and goals.
- Lead the planning and execution of various fundraising and stewardship events, including the Offleashed Vancouver Gala, Offleashed Victoria Gala, and two Fur Balls.
- Collaborate with the Philanthropy team and event committees to optimize relationship-building opportunities and grow support for our events.
- Manage vendor relationships and fundraising volunteers, including event committees.
- Provide formal and informal guidance and training to colleagues and volunteers.
- Work in a self-directed environment, creating work processes and procedures as needed.
- Make decisions in dynamic situations, utilizing data and analysis to inform decisions.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education plus 5-8 years of experience in fundraising and events, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A thorough understanding of events and fundraising strategy, efficiency, and best practices.
- Demonstrated experience in creating, monitoring, and analyzing annual plans and budgets.
- Strong organization and problem-solving skills, with a results-oriented approach and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- CRM experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Able to thrive in an open concept and fast-paced work environment.
