Human Resources Advisor

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Advisor to join our team at NAV CANADA. As a key member of our HR team, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support to employees and managers on HR-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first or second point of contact for HR inquiries and respond to employee and manager requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Guide and educate employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices, including the use of HR systems and tools.
- Process HR transactions and data entries, including hires, departures, job changes, and increments.
- Work closely with the HR team to deliver on HR-related initiatives and projects.
- Liaise with other areas of HR to resolve employee and organizational issues.
- Document and share processes and best practices to improve HR service delivery.
- Diagnose and resolve employee and organizational data issues through effective communication and escalation.
- Identify process inefficiencies and collaborate with the HR team to improve processes and enhance the employee experience.
Requirements
- Completion of a College or University diploma/degree in a related field, such as Business, Finance, Accounting, or Human Resources.
- Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources experience or related experience.
- Experience working with HR systems and tools, including Workday or other HRIS/HRMS.
- Advanced skills and experience with computer applications, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Progressive human resources knowledge acquired through education, training, and/or experience.
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of various NAV CANADA collective bargaining agreements, corporate policies, and practices related to employee compensation, Isolated Post Allowance Policy, and group benefits plans.
- Knowledge of general HR procedures and practices, including HR data administration, benefit administration, and employee records.
- Ability to respect confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with mutual support and collaboration.
- Ability to analyze evidence and facts to make decisions, with a bias towards outcomes rather than outputs and activities.
Working Conditions
- This position is based out of Ottawa Head Office, with the flexibility to work remotely or in a flexible work arrangement.
