Job Summary

TDM Excavating & Contracting Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Operations Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of heavy equipment operators and ensuring that projects are completed safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimate Costs and Materials: Develop and manage budgets for heavy equipment operations, including estimating costs for materials and equipment.
  • Coordinate and Schedule Activities: Plan and coordinate the daily activities of heavy equipment operators, including scheduling and prioritizing tasks.
  • Coordinate Work Activities with Other Project Supervisors or Managers: Collaborate with other project supervisors and managers to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Ensure Health and Safety Regulations are Followed: Develop and implement health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for heavy equipment operators.
  • Establish Methods to Meet Work Schedules: Develop and implement efficient methods for completing projects on time, including establishing work schedules and deadlines.
  • Read Blueprints and Drawings: Interpret blueprints and drawings to understand project requirements and develop plans for completion.
  • Recommend Personnel Actions: Provide recommendations for personnel actions, including promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions.
  • Requisition Materials and Supplies: Order and manage the requisition of materials and supplies necessary for heavy equipment operations.
  • Supervise Workers and Projects: Supervise heavy equipment operators and projects to ensure that they are completed safely and efficiently.
  • Train or Arrange for Training: Provide training and development opportunities for heavy equipment operators to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Work Setting: Relocation costs covered by employer.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure.
  • Personal Suitability: Dependability, flexibility, organized, reliability, and team player.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in heavy equipment operations.
