We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Leader to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a key member of our Public Health team, you will play a critical role in leading our Communicable Disease Control program and providing expert guidance to colleagues and partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and direction to colleagues and partners in managing communicable notifiable diseases and immunization content.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve public health outcomes and reduce the spread of infectious diseases.
  • Collaborate with Zone Medical Officers of Health and Public Health Managers to investigate and respond to public health emergencies.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to immunization programs and services.
  • Contribute to quality assurance efforts and provide recommendations for action based on best practices in public health service delivery.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly shifting priorities in a complex change-oriented environment.
  • Computer proficiency with the ability to use multiple applications simultaneously in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Experience with immunization/CDC databases and software applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in public health or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Alberta's Public Health Act and related regulations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, community members, and government officials.
