Nurse in Charge Position

About the Role
The First Nations Health Authority is seeking a skilled and dedicated Nurse in Charge to provide leadership and guidance on a comprehensive range of core nursing functions and services within a First Nations community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional guidance and assistance to community leaders and other community health care team members in acquiring knowledge and skill.
- Work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team to promote health, prevent disease and injury, protect population health, and provide curative, urgent and emergent care, rehabilitation, and supportive or palliative care.
- Develop and implement nursing plans and programs to meet the unique needs of the First Nations community.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and services.
- Provide education and training to community members on health and wellness topics.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- Current registration with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Current CPR course for Health Care Providers (HCP).
- Must be Remote certified (RNC) with BCCNM.
- Requires a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.
- Successful completion of approved training in public health nursing or approved training in obstetrics, mental health, or some other specialty.
- An understanding of First Nations cultural principles and protocols.
- Knowledge of nursing processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in primary care, disease and injury prevention, health protection, curative, urgent and emergent care, medical / surgical, rehabilitation and supportive or palliative care.
