Mental Health Specialist

Job Summary:
The Mental Health Specialist will provide confidential counselling services to residents of Spruce Grove and Parkland County. The role will involve providing trauma-informed, client-centered counselling sessions, as well as identifying clients who are at risk and ensuring they receive necessary supports and referrals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide trauma-informed, client-centered counselling sessions for individuals aged 14 and up
- Identify clients who are at risk and ensure they receive necessary supports and referrals
- Collaborate with clients to develop a comprehensive, client-centered service plan
- Provide ongoing support for clients to complete their self-identified service plan
Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counselling
- Full registration with a licensing body/college and in good standing
- Registration with various insurance providers and/or ability to meet criteria for reimbursement of client-related counselling expenses
- 4-6 years of related experience in clinical counselling
- Direct experience working with vulnerable populations and Indigenous individuals
