Key Responsibilities:

  • Execution of projects within the realm of building envelope consulting.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance as a Project Principal leading small to large scale projects.
  • Ensure the effective management of project budgets through cost control methods, scheduling and resourcing.
  • Assist with research of new products and systems as needed for servicing your portfolio of projects.
  • Design assistance, drawing and specification review for new construction projects.
  • Computer aided analysis of building envelope details and performance.
  • Forensic inspections of existing buildings to diagnose failures or determine the condition of various building envelope systems.
  • Writing reports related to field work and research.
  • Assisting with the preparation of tender specifications, drawings, and sketches.
  • Field review and other contract administrative duties as required.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years' work experience in building envelope consulting.
  • Bachelor's degree in building science, engineering or architecture; or equivalent training.
  • Registration as a P.Eng. or P.L.Eng. or eligibility for registration is considered an asset.
  • Registered Roof Observer (RRO) designation is considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to manage complex situations with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills with ability to manage scope, schedule and budget.
  • Must be willing to work at heights, including climbing ladders and working on swing stage.
  • Knowledge and interest in building performance, thermal bridging, embodied carbon and climate resiliency and adaptation are considered an asset.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle and maintain throughout employment.
  • Access to a passport and desire to travel for work is an asset.
