Human Resources Coordinator

At Mon Sheong, we are seeking a skilled Human Resources Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the recruitment and hiring functions, supporting health and safety programs, maintaining human resources databases and files, and providing administrative assistance to all members of the team.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement full-cycle recruitment processes, including job postings, advertising, screening, phone interviews, scheduling interviews, conducting reference checks, and presenting job offers to successful candidates.
- Ensure timely completion of accident and injury reporting to WSIB and support return-to-work procedures.
- Participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings and attend workplace inspections as required.
- Maintain and ensure all human resources files and records are up-to-date, in accordance with relevant legislation and the Foundation's policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Payroll department on new hire administrations, terminations, and providing payroll records and changes in accordance with the bi-weekly pay cycles.
- Update and maintain the HRIS and training systems.
- Support HR projects and initiatives as required.
- Promote employee recognition and retention by assisting with annual staff events and recognition programs.
Requirements:
- University degree or college diploma or post-graduate certificate in Human Resources Management.
- 1-3 years of work experience in Human Resources.
- A good understanding of employment legislation and regulations, including the Employment Standards Act (ESA), Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Ontario Human Rights Code, and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
- Experience with HRIS is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to deal with HR issues with a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English, with proficiency in Chinese a definite asset.
