About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at Kent Metal Fabrication Ltd. as an Equipment Assembler and Industrial Machinery Repair Specialist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and install mechanical equipment, including stationary industrial machinery, with precision and attention to detail.
  • Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions in machinery, using problem-solving skills and technical knowledge.
  • Repair or replace defective machinery parts, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Perform routine maintenance work on machinery, including lubrication, cleaning, and inspection.
  • Program programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to optimize equipment operation and efficiency.
  • Install and operate hoisting and lifting equipment, ensuring safe and efficient material handling.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to understand equipment design and functionality.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in maintenance, repair, and equipment assembly.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads, work in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure, with attention to detail and a focus on quality.
  • Steel-toed safety boots and other personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with automated and robotic systems, conveyor systems, and other industrial equipment.
  • Knowledge of welding techniques, including flux core arc welding (FCAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), and gas metal arc welding (GMAW).
  • Experience with high-speed packaging equipment, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to work in a variety of environments, including manufacturing, maintenance, and repair settings.
