Timing and Data Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Racing Clocker Specialist will be responsible for accurately timing and recording the performance of thoroughbred horses during their morning workouts. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Time horses during their morning workouts, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
  • Identify horses prior to workouts and record relevant information
  • Liaise with horsemen, staff, and officials to ensure smooth operations
  • Perform related clerical duties, including data entry and record-keeping
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Requirements:

  • Minimum Grade 12 Education or equivalent
  • Knowledge of thoroughbred horse racing operations and regulations preferred
  • Physical ability to perform duties, including good eyesight and manual dexterity
  • Ability to work in close proximity to horses, if required
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to focus in a busy environment
  • Good organizational and communication skills, including good oral and written English
  • Ability to work effectively without direct supervision, with honesty and integrity
  • Must successfully pass a criminal and credit record check by the Gaming and Policy Enforcement Branch (GPEB) - Racing
