Job Title: Cook - Part Time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified Cook to join our dynamic Dietary department at West Park Health Centre. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring our Residents receive nutritious and delicious meals, prepared and served with love.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and prepare food according to standardized recipes and production sheets
  • Assist the Food Services Manager in their absence, as needed
  • Monitor food supplies and recommend corrective action when necessary
  • Coach Dietary Aides in food preparation procedures and serving activities
  • Maintain required records and collaborate with other departments to meet Resident needs

Requirements:

  • Holds a chef training certificate, culinary management certificate, or diploma, or equivalent, from a recognized college
  • Possesses a current Food Handlers Certificate
  • Successfully passes tuberculosis (TB) testing
  • Obtains a current and valid Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) Police Reference Check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Red Seal Cook Trade Certification is considered an asset
  • Experience in institutional large quantity cooking is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Proven ability to provide direction and lead others in a busy environment
