Zymeworks is seeking a highly skilled Associate Scientist to join our In Vitro Biology team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and executing in vitro pharmacology experiments to support the development of novel technologies for ADCs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement novel cell-based assays to characterize small molecules, antibodies, and bioconjugates.
- Lead and execute high-throughput screening assays to identify potential candidates for ADC development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and troubleshoot novel methods for profiling the mechanism of action of ADCs.
- Apply advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to conduct technically advanced analyses and data interpretations.
- Effectively communicate results and progress updates to the team and external partners.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and scientific/technical guidance to junior staff.
- Support mammalian tissue culture activities and ensure cell lines are properly expanded and maintained.
- PhD in Molecular Biology, Immunology, or Biochemistry with 1-2 years of relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated experience with cell-based or biochemical assay development.
- Strong understanding of in vitro cancer models and therapeutic mechanisms of action.
- Experience with characterization and analysis of biotherapeutics is an asset.
Zymeworks offers a comprehensive total rewards package, including competitive salaries, generous benefits, and excellent opportunities for professional growth. The Canadian base salary range for this position is $86,000 - $110,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
