Job Summary
Okanagan College is seeking a highly qualified Vocational Instructor to join our team in the Early Childhood Education department. As a Vocational Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and professional development to students in the field of Early Childhood Education.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver instructional duties, including teaching assignments, course and program preparation, and evaluation of student work.
- Develop and implement curriculum that meets the needs of students and the college.
- Provide professional development opportunities for colleagues and students.
- Participate in school visitations, committee work, and other service activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field; Master's Degree preferred.
- Current License to practice as an Early Childhood Educator.
- Instructor's Diploma or valid BC Teacher's Certificate appropriate to the instructional assignment.
- Five or more years of experience working with young children.
- Experience in curriculum development preferred.
- Established strong community partnerships will be considered an asset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exceptional teaching record with demonstrated learner-centred teaching philosophy.
- Good written and oral English skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable in a computerized environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of programs relevant to the discipline.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary range: $71,846 to $115,129 annually.
- Normal starting salary between $78,872 and $85,897 annually, dependent on relevant education and experience.
