Job Summary
Okanagan College is seeking a skilled Vocational Instructor to join our team in the Early Childhood Education department. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, curriculum development, and professional development activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver instructional duties, including teaching assignments, course preparation, and student advising.
- Develop and implement curriculum, including practicum placement and student evaluation.
- Participate in professional development activities to promote teaching excellence and subject area competence.
- Contribute to service activities, such as school visitations and committee participation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field; Master's Degree preferred.
- Current License to practice as an Early Childhood Educator.
- Instructor's Diploma or valid BC Teacher's Certificate, preferred.
- Five or more years of experience working with young children.
- Experience in curriculum development and strong community partnerships, an asset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Established strong community partnerships.
- Several years of recent teaching experience.
- Excellent written and oral English skills, and good interpersonal skills.
