About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team at Homewood Health. As a Financial Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the financial operations of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform data analysis and reporting to inform business decisions
  • Participate in the period-end close process, including journaling transactions and account reconciliations
  • Prepare financial statements and monthly departmental variance reports, including detailed salary analysis
  • Provide exceptional customer service and accounting expertise to cross-functional areas
  • Assist with the year-end external audit process and preparation of relevant working papers
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency
  • Support the annual budget process and all ancillary reporting
  • Ensure accurate and timely Ministry reporting, including quarterly MIS submissions and Ontario Health reports

Requirements

  • Two plus years of relevant accounting, data analysis, and financial reporting experience, with a strong understanding of healthcare operations
  • Superior Excel skills for advanced data manipulation and analysis
  • University degree or College diploma in a related field, with a strong academic record
  • Completion of, or close to completing, an accounting designation (CPA, CMA, ACCA, etc.)
  • Experience with AS400, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or Sage is considered an asset
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to discuss financial observations with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, and implement recommended courses of action
  • Proven ability to work independently and as a team member
