Job Title: Construction Estimator

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team at Canadian RCA Wall Systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs for our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and contractors
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate estimates and timely project delivery
  • Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather data for estimates
  • Prepare and submit pre-qualification submissions to present to clients
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads
  • Provide economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects
  • Project cash flow and financing requirements
  • Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms
  • Utilize quantity take-off procedures
  • Advise on tendering procedures
  • Analyze tenders and recommend awards
  • Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems
  • Monitor and adjust contract expenditures
  • Prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors
  • Liaise, consult, and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in construction estimation or a related field
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent oral communication and client focus skills
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a team environment
  • Organized and proactive with a strong attention to detail
