We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Security Manager to join our team. In this role, you will manage and coordinate the activities of the safety department, primarily at our Mirabel, Ottawa, and Halifax sites, and for our 13 other L3 MAS sites, through the application of our company's policies, processes, and contractual or legal obligations.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing unionized and non-unionized employees in the security department
  • Managing, administering, and ensuring the compliance and integrity of the contract security and controlled goods programs
  • Acting as a Senior Manager of the division's internal Insider Threat Program
  • Representing our company and ensuring compliance with safety obligations issued by Aéroports de Montréal (for Transport Canada)
  • Developing and keeping up-to-date corporate and local safety policies and ensuring compliance
  • Managing access and alarm systems for Mirabel, Ottawa, and Halifax
  • Investigating, documenting, and informing the authorities of safety rules violations or breaches, if necessary
  • Developing and keeping up-to-date the rules protecting our company's confidential information
  • Developing, keeping up-to-date, and delivering safety training programs for employees, visitors, and suppliers
  • Planning and carrying out safety inspections, including audits
  • Developing and updating Crisis Management Plans
  • Managing and recommending processes or projects within a budget defined by management
  • Acting as Company Security Officer (CSO) for the government (contract security program)
  • Acting as Designated Official (DO) to the government (controlled goods program)
  • Acting as Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) to Canada's nuclear regulator

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A college diploma in a related field (industrial safety, legal, management, etc.) and at least 9 years of relevant experience; or
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field (industrial safety, legal, management, etc.) and at least 7 years of relevant experience;
  • At least 13 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree;
  • Experience in personnel administration, including unionized staff, is preferred;
  • Experience in a similar safety management position within a defense or aerospace organization is preferred;
  • Experience as a company security officer and designated representative is preferred;
  • Knowledge of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) is considered an asset;
  • The ability to communicate with executives on high-impact issues;
  • The ability to solve problems and innovate when information is hard to get;
  • Must be eligible for NATO Secret security clearance or hold one;
  • Be meticulous and conscientious in following various regulations, policies, and applicable laws;
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills;
  • Demonstrate discretion, autonomy, judgment, integrity, and reliability;
  • Bilingualism in French and English (intermediate level, oral and written) is required.
