Event Operations Coordinator

We are seeking a skilled Event Operations Coordinator to join our team at Elm Hurst Inn Ltd. in an exciting opportunity to manage banquet services, events, and operations.
About the RoleThis is a permanent full-time position working 30 hours per week. The ideal candidate will have experience in event planning and coordination, with excellent communication and leadership skills. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless execution of events, managing staff, and maintaining high-quality customer service standards.
Key Responsibilities- Determine the type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures to meet client expectations.
- Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports, and related forms accurately and on time.
- Conduct performance reviews of staff to identify areas for improvement and provide constructive feedback.
- Cost products and services, negotiate arrangements with suppliers, and maintain inventory levels to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations, ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations.
- Organize and maintain inventory, including food, beverages, and other supplies, to meet client demands.
- Ensure health and safety regulations are followed, creating a safe work environment for employees and clients alike.
- Negotiate with clients for catering or use of facilities, providing exceptional customer service and meeting their needs.
- Participate in marketing plans and implementation, contributing to the growth and success of our business.
- Leading/instructing individuals to achieve team goals and objectives, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Address customers' complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring client satisfaction.
- Provide exceptional customer service, exceeding client expectations and building strong relationships.
- Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations, making informed decisions to drive business success.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- 1-6 months of experience in event planning, coordination, or a related field.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and direct staff.
- A strong understanding of event operations, including logistics, budgeting, and customer service.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on delivering exceptional results.
We offer a competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, based on experience, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
