About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Director of Waste Management to lead our Pollution Control Department in Windsor, Ontario.

This critical role oversees the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment systems, including Lou Romano Water Reclamation Plant, Little River Pollution Control Plant, and Windsor Biosolids Processing Facility.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with provincial legislative and regulatory requirements, managing facilities, and preparing budgets.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Pollution Control Department in maintaining and operating wastewater treatment systems, stormwater pumping stations, and other infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with provincial regulations and legislation, including Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Manage preventative maintenance and asset management of facilities to ensure long-term operation and cost control.
  • Develop and administer annual and multi-year departmental capital and operating budgets.
  • Engage in labour relations, negotiate collective bargaining agreements, and maintain relationships with external agencies and industrial managers.
Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must have:

  • A Master's Degree in Science or Engineering, combined with six years of experience in a managerial capacity in Operations or Pollution Control.
  • A University Degree in Science or Engineering, combined with ten years of experience in a managerial capacity in Operations or Pollution Control.
  • A valid Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, as well as proven organizational traits.
  • A valid Class G Driver's Licence for operating a City of Windsor vehicle.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $151,290.06 to $183,893.79 annually, based on qualifications and experience.

This is a regular full-time position, with no shift work required.
