Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Collage HR. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting adults with diverse abilities to reach their full potential and enhance their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build Relationships and Social Skills: Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, promoting social skills and community connections.
  • Encourage Meaningful Activities: Engage clients in recreational activities, including sports, crafts, and community participation, to promote a sense of belonging and fulfillment.
  • Transportation and Support: Safely transport clients to activities and provide support with mobility challenges, including assisting with walkers, wheelchairs, and other mobility aids.
  • Personal Care and Health Needs: Monitor and support clients with personal care and health needs, including administering medication as needed.
  • Crisis Intervention and Prevention: Recognize and respond to crisis situations using de-escalation and therapeutic intervention skills.
Requirements
  • Education and Training: Community or School Support Worker Certificate, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Effectively interact with individuals with physical and cognitive diverse abilities.
  • Valid Driver's License: Possess a valid Class 5 Driver's license and a safe driving record.
  • Physical Requirements: Meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting, transferring, and assisting clients safely.
