The Role

We are seeking an experienced Mass Timber Project Manager to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta. As a key member of our team, you will oversee project execution from inception to completion, collaborating closely with internal teams, architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure timely delivery, budget adherence, and exceptional quality.

Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning and Coordination: Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with stakeholders, coordinating all aspects of project execution to achieve optimal results.
  • Technical Expertise: Apply your knowledge of mass timber materials, construction methods, and building codes to provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance and performance optimization.
  • Resource Management: Effectively manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to achieve project milestones and objectives.
  • Financial Management: Monitor and maintain financial aspects of the project, including procurement processes, forecasting, cash flow management, and contractual agreement revisions.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans or alternate solutions to minimize disruptions.
  • Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and contractors, fostering strong relationships through trust, transparency, and effective communication.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in engineering, construction management, architecture, manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in project management within the construction industry, preferably with a focus on mass timber or wood-framed structures.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, concise content.
  • Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects.
  • Thorough understanding of mass timber materials, manufacturing processes, and construction techniques is preferred.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.
  • Proficiency in MS Teams and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Compensation and Benefits

Western Archrib offers a competitive salary ranging between $80,000-$120,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus comprehensive health benefits, RRSP program, professional development opportunities, and continuous learning initiatives.
