Senior Business Analyst - Business Performance

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our Business Performance team, you will be responsible for supporting the global rollout of the Workforce Time & Attendance system and business transformation agenda.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support project execution by gathering and documenting business requirements, addressing defects and enhancements, executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and collaborating with the HR Technical team.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering and process design sessions with multiple stakeholders to extract business requirements and turn them into use cases, user stories, etc.
  • Model and document business and user requirements in user stories, workflows, processes, and business rules.
  • Interact with system and product owners to validate requirements and their implementation.
  • Bridge the gap between business and technical requirements by ensuring common understanding and IT/Business alignment.
  • Engage with Agile teams writing and clarifying user stories, participating in delivery planning and review, backlog grooming, and prioritization.
  • Assist with user acceptance testing and testing documentation, including preparing a requirements traceability matrix, writing test cases, test execution, and solving defects.
  • Independently resolve complex problems to meet business needs by applying HR and technological knowledge to design methodologies, models, and/or systems solutions.
  • Serve as a representative of the business and advocate for stakeholders to ensure they have a clear understanding of the Business Requirements Document.
  • Collaborate with Global HR Technology to monitor, assess, test, and troubleshoot errors, and recommend enhancements and process improvements.
  • Evaluate and analyze existing HR policies, procedures, and current processes to identify system enhancements/improvement opportunities and implement solutions.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • College Diploma or University Degree in a technical field such as Engineering or Computer Science, with critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Previous experience as a business system analyst, product owner, project management, business transformation, and continuous process improvement.
  • Knowledge of WorkForce Time & Attendance, Success Factors, and SAP is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and proficient knowledge of PowerPoint and Word.
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of Bank policies and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of HR policies and processes.
  • Fluent in Spanish is considered an asset.
