Job Overview:

The Director of Sales will play a pivotal role in driving the company's sales strategy and growth. This leader will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing sales team, developing and executing innovative sales approaches, and collaborating with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure alignment with overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Strategy: Develop and implement effective business development strategies to identify and seize target markets and business opportunities, in line with the company's expansion goals.
  • Sales Performance: Develop and oversee domestic and international sales strategies, including pricing policies, channel approaches, and partner programs to drive growth and profitability.
  • Team Development: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing sales team, cultivating a culture of excellence and motivating the team to achieve revenue targets.
  • Customer Engagement: Analyze market trends and customer needs to tailor sales strategies and enhance customer satisfaction. Establish and maintain key customer relationships.
  • Market Analysis: Continuously assess industry trends, competitor activities, and market demand to stay ahead and adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Collaboration: Partner with marketing and other departments to achieve business objectives, execute impactful marketing campaigns, and strengthen brand positioning.
  • Reporting and Communication: Present sales updates, key performance metrics, and strategic insights to the SLT and shareholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with company goals.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 10-15 years of experience in sales and sales management, with at least 10 years in a B2B food ingredients environment and 5 years in a manufacturing setting.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Food Science, Science, Nutrition, or a related field is preferred. Advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Leadership and Skills: Demonstrated success in leadership and project management with a focus on results. Outstanding organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and a data-driven approach. Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools like Salesforce.
